This chair makes use of the very different properties of coppice hazel and birch ply.The hazel sticks are grooved and cut so as to fit onto the ply form, once screwed in place together with the ply they make a very strong form. the final shaping of the chair is done by hand,eye and trial to give a comfortable and supporting shape for the body.
